National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.

Unique Local Info
A note on the crest history above: The crest history shown on this page is unique to this gauge (NWS: RWLG1, USGS: 02335450) and is available from 1977 to present. A previous gauge near this location (USGS: 02335500) had additional peak flows and crest history available before 1960, including a crest of 23.4 feet in 1946. This historic crest is based on a different datum and is prior to the construction of Buford Dam (Lake Lanier), and therefore not considered a 'modern' crest, and not included above.
