This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 22 - This level is similar to the FEMA 1 percent flood. Dozens of homes and businesses between West Church Street and Raccoon Creek are flooded, with flooding also affecting several blocks between West Church and Route 16. Additionally, flooding affects property along the east side of North 21st Street, with much of the YMCA campus and buildings flooded. Flooding of homes and businesses also occurs near the creek between Main and Wilson Streets.
- 20 - Locations along South 6th Street near the creek are flooded between the railroad tracks and Main Street. Flooding along Western Avenue may be several feet deep along property closest to the creek. Flooding also begins behind homes along Wilson Street. Flooding worsens along Raccoon Drive, as well as White Field and the YMCA complex.
- 19 - Flooding affects homes and businesses along Wilson and Jefferson Streets, as well as along Western Avenue. Flooding also affects Raccoon Drive. White Field is flooded, as well as areas of the YMCA complex. Flooding near the creek is confined to properties east of North 21st Street.
