National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.

- 18 - At this level, the river reaches a level similar to what was experienced in 2019.

On March 27, 2019, the Nebraska DNR surveyed a high water mark debris line on the right upstream embankment of Highway 77 south of Fremont. They found the elevation to be 1199.689 feet, NAVD88. This translates to a gage height of 17.769 feet. Other highwater marks from the event were surveyed near Hormel Park, with slightly higher elevations but of less quality. With all this in mind, a gage height of 18 feet is a reasonable estimate of the gage height of the 2019 flood.
