National Water Model Hydrograph
Official NWS streamflow forecasts are produced by NWS hydrologic forecasters for river gauge locations using hydrologic models which are calibrated to that location. This process considers additional guidance and information, including local expertise and experience, to produce the best forecast possible. The NWM output provides supplemental guidance to NWS forecasters and should not be considered an official NWS river forecast.
Flood Impacts
- 20 - Near record flooding along the Driftwood River. Several residences and seasonal homes along CR 330W and CR 325W destroyed. Flooding of additional residences possible along CR 330W and CR 325W. Residences at the west end of CR 500N on the east side of the river may flood. Possible flooding of Tannehill Rd on east side of bridge. Extensive flooding of portions of CR 330W both north and south of Tannehill Rd. Water over CR 250W just west of I-65 rest stop. CR 325W south of Lowell Rd flooded.
- 17 - Highest level since June 2008 for the Driftwood River. Flooding of several residences and seasonal homes along CR 330W and CR 325W very likely. Lowell Rd flooded at CR 250W just east of the bridge. Flooding occurs along several portions of CR 330W and CR 325W including north of Tannehill Rd. Extensive flooding of Tannehill Rd west of bridge and CR 500N east of river. Water within a few feet of CR 250W just west of I-65 rest stop. Water near top of levee on the west side of the river at gage site.
- 16.3 - Extensive flooding in progress. At this level in December 2013...US Highway 31 was closed by high water just north of SR 252 at Edinburgh. The Big Blue River was flooding the road. Big Blue River had crested at Shelbyville slightly over 18 feet and Sugar Creek near Edinburgh had reached 16.8 feet.
